The Van

Dolly is a 1969 early bay, type 2 Volkswagen camper van. She has a reconditioned engine so she’ll pootle a bit quicker than when she left the factory. She has been very well restored and has added extras for 21st century camping.

Dolly has seat belts for 5. She sleeps 4 inside her, for more sleeping and living space we would recommend our drive away awning. Dolly has a separate leisure battery and a hook up kit, so that you can bring standard electrical equipment i.e. hairdryers, laptops, phone chargers etc without fear of draining her battery.

She has a ‘rock and roll’ double bed, a hammock in the roof and a small child’s bunk for across the front seats. She even has central heating for those cooler nights. This is sophisticated camping! Dolly is fully equipped to ensure you can enjoy your holiday to the full.

Dolly’s CV

Dolly was born in Germany but lived in South Africa in 1969 and in her early years she was painted Red. Her restoration occurred in 2005. She changed colour to what you see now and has been known to win Best in Show awards. Dolly has a reconditioned air cooled engine but her heart is still 40 years old. Consequently she is at her best when handled gently and treated kindly. We are chuffed that Dolly now lives on our farm and are delighted to share her for self drive holidays.
